“Implant treatment helped me to gain my confidence again. I stopped worrying how I looked without shirt on and I can happily do my favourite physical exercises again. I didn't experience any problems during the implant treatment and therefore I would be definitely recommend it to anybody who has pectus chest and wanted to do something about it.”

“I found Dr Hunt to be incredibly helpful, reassuring, clear and knowledgeable about my condition. I have been discussing my pectus excavatum with various doctors and specialists for the last ten years and I've never felt that I have been listened to and understood by the doctor in the way that Dr Hunt has listened to and understood my situation. Dr Hunt was very clear about process about treatment options and I'm grateful to have spoken to such a knowledgeable and reassuring specialist.”

“Both of my sons have received treatment for pectus. From the initial contact the service has been very smooth, informative and reassuring. Mr. Hunt was very clear about the treatment plan and both my sons have managed it without too many problems. The difference the brace has made in a short space of time is amazing. Due to the severity of one of my sons pectus he is on the different schedule but this means it's personal and the right journey for each client. We would recommend this to anyone without practise condition.”

“It was less painful than originally imagined. The first night made the bracing seem impossible but you very quickly become used to the sleeping arrangements. It has had little effect on my social aspects which was better than I originally thought. The device itself is much more comfortable than I thought and the tighter the more comfortable for me.”

“On the 6th of June 2018, I underwent my NUS pectus surgery to correct my pectus excavatum. It was a surgery I had wanted for the past two years and for it to finally happen felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my chest, literally. In the lead up to the surgery, my mum had found Mr Ian Hunt. I had met with him a number of times to discuss the possible options available for me and how the procedure would affect me. I was almost immediately set on the NUS procedure as it seemed to perfectly fit with my vision for what the surgery would provide, which is a normal appearing chest, and a surgery that was a long-term solution. The option of providing an implant simply didn’t suit my preference. The day of the surgery certainly had me nervous, being my first major surgery, but I was also extremely eager to see the result of it, as Mr Hunt as told me the result would be instantly visible. The lead up to the surgery was made more calming and easier for me than I could have imagined. The whole time I felt very in control of the situation, with multiple options of painkiller and calming biotics being provided. Once I awoke, I wasn’t fully aware to the happenings around me due to the morphine but was still greeted by my family and staff. Mr Hunt regularly checked in on my progress and began to ease me back into simple movements. The staff such as the physio and nurses provided excellent around the clock support, which created the perfect environment for recovery. The first few weeks were as painful as Mr Hunt as said, but when looking in the mirror at the result of the surgery, it faded in comparison to the change. I was extremely pleased with the results of the surgery and would recommend Mr Hunt and his Staff to anyone in a similar situation to me.”

“The hardest part of the recovery was dealing with the ‘night sweats’. They lasted for approximately 5 weeks post-surgery, and seemed to stop when I began sleeping on my side. I was incredibly happy with the results, and I was particularly amazed at the immediate results once the operation had been completed. The deformity was 85% corrected at the time of the operation, which was a fantastic surprise. Mr. Hunt and the the team were incredibly supportive an informative throughout, and the operation was utterly professional from the very start to the end. I am so impressed with the way that I have been treated.”

“So I was very unhappy with my chest before surgery. I felt as though it was constant burden on my social and sport life and now two weeks after surgery I feel great. My chest is now how I desired before my surgery and despite their struggle post surgery. I would say it's completely worth it and has affected my life in the future for the better. “It's been very positive! My chest has notably and obviously improved. The actual wearing bit isn't uncomfortable and it actually feels good to wear because I know the chest is improving and I enjoy seeing the flexibility of my chest and how it lifts. I have since become much happier not wearing a shirt in public! Additionally my actual experience and interactions with Mr. Hunt has been informative helpful and enjoyable. Cheers.”
